The Lapsed Humanist
Periodic releases of excess ruminating
Staying busy anyway I can, here is my latest review for Vancouver Weekly: Mind Hive, the excellent new LP by Wire. Released early in 2020, the album already feels out of time, but that could be a projection from my own mind. In any case, Mind Hive is the latest Wire release: a strange, dark, and gorgeous trip through some pre-pandemic vistas. I assume there is some hidden wisdom in the cryptic lyrics, but I am still mesmerized by the sonics of MInd Hive. If you enjoy this or any of my work for VW, please spread and share this and other pieces throughout the stratosphere of social media. Meanwhile, look out for more in the coming weeks. Lord knows I've the time to write about some good music. At the time of this writing, I am arranging an interview and setting up for a slew of LP/EP reviews. The plan is to have those up, done and dusted, over the coming two weeks. I guess I should get on my pony if I'm going to make my own artificial deadline.
